Sean Jacobs is associate professor of international affairs at The New School in New York City. He founded and is editor of Africa Is a Country, a site of opinion, analysis and new writing. He studied at the University of Cape Town, UNISA, Northwestern University and Birkbeck College. He has held fellowships from The New School, New York University and Harvard University. Sean is currently a Shuttleworth Fellow. His research interests are the relation between politics and popular culture. He was born and grew up in Cape Town.
