In It’s Not Enough, a group of single mothers living in Dunoon, Cape Town, discuss their monthly struggles to provide for their families on a government SASSA child support grant. Hanging on the edge of just barely being able to afford food, rent, school fees, transport and the everyday costs of living, they discuss their hopes for a brighter future, where their children will have the education necessary to afford decent-paying jobs. This short, perfectly summarised and showcased, is an on-the-nail display of the hardship that working single women in South Africa face every day, and a reminder of the ongoing poverty crisis within the country.
